What is worth writing about

A figure that does not match the page it cites, a sentence that says more than its source, a link that moved, or a question about how a number was counted. The desk re-reads the source and answers.

What happens to a correction

The sentence or table row is changed in place and the date of the change is added. A figure is not edited silently, because each is valid for the day it was read.

What the desk cannot answer

It cannot say whether a particular provider should be copied, whether to open an account, or how to settle a dispute with a broker. Those belong to the broker and, where unresolved, to the regulator or the ombud.
